NEWS FROM THE WYNNE HOME ARTS CENTER
Phase I: Reconstruction Funding Complete
Community leaders, volunteers, and contributors raised $57,427 to match a
$55,000 grant
to the City of Huntsville by The Meadows Foundation for the future Wynne
Home Arts
Center. This means that all the funds needed for the reconstruction for
adaptive re-use of
the home as an arts center are now in place. “We are very grateful to every
individual
and to the several foundations that have helped the City with the funding
that will
transform the home into a community arts center where family and youth
opportunities
and development will be the primary purpose of the center. Secondary uses
will include
providing a facility for community meetings, events, and celebrations.”
Now that funding for the reconstruction is complete, we look forward to the
completion
of the Center. The Wynne Home Arts Center is anticipated to open in the fall
with art
exhibits and programming opportunities for all ages. Please watch for more

To Contribute to Phase II: Equipping the Wynne Home as an Arts Center
The second phase of the project—to equip the structure to function as an
arts center is
underway. Several pieces of furniture were donated by the Wynne Family and
other
individuals. Several pieces will be on loan from the Sam Houston Memorial
Museum.
Watch this space for a list of items that are still needed for the arts
center. Monetary
contributions will be much appreciated and may be sent to:
