tie-dyed pieces in one day.

public and interested quilters an opportunity to learn new quilting techniques
through three six hour sessions held on the
Friday before Airing of the Quilts.
4. Black Women of Texas

To provide children and residents of Huntsville with knowledge of black women in
Texas history. The presenter is Naomi Carrier,
Talking Back Living History.
5. Helping Hands

To teach children the value of giving back to the community and help them
understand the importance of appreciating all of what our
public servants do to
protect and help the people of the community by making and
presenting a
completed quilt and participating in “Airing of the Quilts”.

the Gratz Ensemble to perform at civic events,

other outdoor and indoor presentations.

13. Folk Festival Living History Reenactors

To support the visit of selected historical folk life reenactors and
interpreters who will demonstrate frontier and pioneer lifestyles and
crafts at
the Sam Houston Folk Festival to be presented in April to Early may 2008.

To perform at least one concert in the downtown area at the end of the Fall 2007
and Spring 2008 semesters at the Old Town
Theatre and other performances are
planned for local schools.
15. Huntsville Community Men’s Choir

To provide musical performances for various conventions, Veteran’s Day services,
reunions, and other special events and concerts.
16. Airing of the Quilts

To display quilts around the courthouse and front awnings of surrounding
buildings. They will also be displayed in windows of local
businesses.
The events and activities listed have funding support from the
Huntsville Arts Commission (HAC), City of Huntsville or may be printed as a
