Arts Education
      1.   All the Colors of Huntsville
            Huntsvilles Promise
            Tamara Chasteen

            To teach tie-dye techniques and attempt to establish a record for creating the most tie-dyed pieces in one day.

      2.   Gemstones
            Elaine Smith

            To enhance the personal growth of junior high school age females through exposure to enriching experiences, to include participation
            in attendance at events of cultural arts in Huntsville-Walker County.

      3.   Stitching in the Pines
            Tall Pines Quilt Guild
            Helen Belcher

            To offer the public and interested quilters an opportunity to learn new quilting techniques through three six hour sessions held on the
            Friday before Airing of the Quilts.

      4.  Black Women of Texas
           National Council of Negro Women
           Jo Ann Castille

           To provide children and residents of Huntsville with knowledge of black women in Texas history. The presenter is Naomi Carrier,
           Talking Back Living History.

     5.   Helping Hands
           Boys & Girls Club of Walker County
           Michelle McKenzie

           To teach children the value of giving back to the community and help them understand the importance of appreciating all of what our
           public servants do to protect and help the people of the community by making and   
           presenting a completed quilt and participating in “Airing of the Quilts”.

     6.   Children’s Tent
           General Sam Houston Folk Festival
           Tamara Chasteen

           To offer hands on art activities for children and adults to enjoy in a period venue through the Sam Houston Folk Festival.
          
Cultural Promotion

     7.   World Cultural Exchange

           To promote cultural diversity through music, dance, discussion and cuisine through seminars and performances which will be open to
           the public.

Facility Support

     8.   Performing Arts Centre
           Friends of the Old Town Theatre

           To continue to provide a venue for local non-profit organizations to perform and to bring into the downtown area performing groups
           that will appeal to the entire Huntsville community.

Performing Arts

     9.   Texas World Dance Company
           Dr. Cindy Gratz

           To combine the Polynesian Dance Review of Huntsville, The Prime Time Dancers and the Gratz Ensemble to perform at civic events,
           business meetings/conventions and other outdoor and indoor presentations.

   10.   Huntsville Children’s Choir
           Huntsville Children’s Choir

           To provide children an opportunity to learn music theory and performance skills; various performances will be held throughout the
           year.

   11.   Performance and Production of Plays
           Huntsville Community Theatre
           Katie Stefaniak

           To present four plays in downtown J. Philip Gibbs, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.

   12.   Children’s Theatre Festival
           Sam Houston State University
           Penelope Hasekoester

           To provide an opportunity for children and adolescents in Huntsville area to audition and possibly be involved in the theatre production
           that will be presented.

   13.   Folk Festival Living History Reenactors
           Sam Houston Memorial Museum
           Dr. Patrick Nolan

           To support the visit of selected historical folk life reenactors and interpreters who will demonstrate frontier and pioneer lifestyles and
           crafts at the Sam Houston Folk Festival to be presented in April to Early may 2008.

   14.   HYO General Support
           Huntsville Youth Orchestra
           Henry Chisum

           To perform at least one concert in the downtown area at the end of the Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 semesters at the Old Town
           Theatre and other performances are planned for local schools.

   15.   Huntsville Community Men’s Choir
           Huntsville Community Men’s Choir
           Norman Ward

           To provide musical performances for various conventions, Veteran’s Day services, reunions, and other special events and concerts.

   16.   Airing of the Quilts
           Tall Pines Quilt Guild
           Helen Belcher

           To display quilts around the courthouse and front awnings of surrounding buildings. They will also be displayed in windows of local
           businesses.
