  2. Story Time

    Come to Story Time – a fun early literacy program for kids 5 and under. Join us for interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of reading and learning. Story Time offers caregivers and parents an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, discover great books and resources for home use, and socialize with other parents after Story Time. There is something new each week! Sign-up is not required. Story Time is held on Wednesdays with an identical session on Fridays at 10:45 a.m. March dates are as follows: March 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21 and 23.   3. Searching with Sharon Vann

    The Huntsville Public Library is pleased to announce an opportunity for genealogy enthusiasts and newcomers alike to meet with an experienced and qualified genealogical researcher.  Two-hour sessions will be offered the first and third Fridays through June.  Sessions will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendance will be limited to no more than three researchers.  The small group will allow each participant to receive individual attention.  Sharon Vann has volunteered to assist local researchers with the skills and knowledge she has acquired over many years of family research. Vann has worked since 2006 organizing and teaching family history interest groups in her church.  She has spent the last several years giving one-on- one help to those interested in learning how to use Family Search as a research tool.  Interested persons should contact Mary Kokot, Adult Program Coordinator at 936-291- 5471.  Sign-up is required.

  4. First Friday Book Club

    “The only way to cope with something deadly serious is to try to treat it a little lightly.” Madeleine L’Engle’s award winning book A Wrinkle in Time discusses the timeless struggle between good and evil in a science fiction setting.   5. Midday Movie Matinee

    March 2, 2018, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Community Room

    Join your friends and neighbors for a Midday Movie Matinee beginning Friday, March 2nd at the Huntsville Public Library. Screenings of American classic movies will be shown on the first Fridays of each month from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Midday Movie Matinee will be followed by Family Movie Night at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary popcorn will be served at both events and attendees may bring non-alcoholic drinks in non-spill containers. If attending Family Movie Night, don’t forget your pillows and blankets.     Does your family like ninjas? Or did you miss a movie in theaters? The Huntsville Public Library has you covered with our monthly Family Movie Night! March's selection is The Lego Ninjago Movie which will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Friday, March 2, in the Community Room. Enjoy complimentary popcorn during the film but don't forget to bring your own child-friendly beverage and pillows/blankets. Registration is not required for this all ages event.
